This was a 2nd year packaging project where we were given a product and we had to design the brand and packaging. I was given CRAFT GIN and I decided to call it NIP from “NIPPIE” a name my grandfather used to call his dailly dose of spirits.

SOLUTION

I didn’t want to go for the cliché vintage style design so I went with a simplified design to fit the name thus the minimalist modern design.

NIP GIN is a craft spirit so I used a combination of 2 very detatailed line-drawn flowers with different colours at the back of the bottle to create an overlaid effect.

I chose the name NW for my distillery which stands for North West. This is because I’m from the North West province and I feel that the Cape has been taking the limelight for creating all if not most of the alcoholic beverages in South Africa.
